OpenVZ VPS Servers to be Discontinued

We’d like to inform you that we have started the gradual discontinuation of our OpenVZ VPS product lineup.

The OpenVZ VPS plans in our USA data center have already been removed from our portfolio, and over the coming weeks the same process will continue across our remaining data center locations.

This move reflects our commitment to providing modern, reliable, and future-proof virtualization solutions for both our partners and their customers.

Why are OpenVZ VPS plans discontinued

This decision was made after reviewing the future development of the OpenVZ platform.

OpenVZ container technology has not received active updates since 2024, and future versions are expected to move away from container-based virtualization toward VM-based architecture.

As the industry continues to evolve, we believe it is important to focus our resources on technologies with stronger long-term support, broader compatibility, and better scalability.

Moving forward with KVM virtualization

Over the years, we have built a strong KVM VPS lineup alongside our OpenVZ services.

Going forward, we will focus entirely on growing and improving our KVM-based infrastructure.

This will allow us to:

• Expand and diversify our VPS portfolio;
• Deliver a more modern virtualization environment;
• Improve long-term stability and compatibility;
• Provide a stronger and more competitive product offering for our clients.

By focusing our efforts on KVM virtualization, we can continue investing in better performance, new features, and improved reliability across our VPS portfolio.

Why is KVM the better long-term solution?

KVM has become the industry standard for modern VPS virtualization and offers several important advantages over traditional OpenVZ containers.

Some of the key benefits include:

• Full virtualization with isolated virtual machines;

• More consistent and predictable performance;

Unlike container-based virtualization, KVM provides each VPS with its own isolated environment and kernel layer, making it better suited for modern applications, custom configurations, and demanding production workloads.

What happens to existing OpenVZ VPS services?

Current OpenVZ VPS services will continue to operate normally for the time being.

Later this year, we plan to carefully migrate existing OpenVZ users to KVM-based infrastructure following detailed planning and testing procedures.

Our goal is to ensure a smooth and well-organized transition process with minimal disruption.

All clients will be notified well in advance with detailed information regarding:

• Migration timelines
• Planned procedures
• Available upgrade paths
• Any required actions
